ARE YOU TAKING ON NEW CLIENTS AT THIS TIME?
Yes. Please note this is an online only (tele-therapy) practice. Sessions are conducted via secure video calls. Clients must be physically residing in the state of Florida at the time of each session.
DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
I am in network with some insurance plans, I do not take Medicare or Medicaid plans. Read more about insurances I take here.
WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?
Client's with insurance pay whatever their plan's copay for counseling is. For those paying out of pocket, couples counseling is $155 per session, and for individuals it is $125 per session.
ARE YOU SEEING CLIENTS IN PERSON RIGHT NOW?
I am only seeing clients through teletherapy/online sessions. I am able to provide online counseling to anyone who is a Florida resident; you do not have to reside in the South Florida area.
WHAT PRESENTING PROBLEMS DO YOU TREAT?
Anxiety, depression, grief, abandonment issues, trauma, familial conflict, couples issues, LGBTQ+ related issues, loneliness, job related distress, loss of partner through separation/break up, gender/racial inequality, and overall emotional distress.
HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?
Each therapy session is about 50-55 minutes long.
WHAT TYPES OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
I accept credit card or debit card. I will send you a credit card form to fill out before the first session in your patient portal. I will charge your copay or session rate to your card automatically after your session.
WHAT TYPE OF THERAPY TECHNIQUES DO YOU USE?
I use an eclectic style of therapy, with influences from the following theories: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Gottman, and Person Centered. I use what I think is helpful in the moment with my clients. I walk with my clients to where they want to go, the past or the present.
CAN I CONTACT YOU BY EMAIL?
Yes, feel free to contact me by email but please note that this is not a means of emergency contact. Please allow me a minimum of 24 hours to respond, and do not email me any sensitive information in order to protect your privacy.
WHAT AGES DO YOU WORK WITH?
I work with clients aged 18 and up.
IS YOUR PRACTICE INCLUSIVE?
Yes. I have experience working with people of color and the LGBTQIA community (and other marginalized groups). This is a no judgement, compassionate listening and understanding practice.
ARE THERE ANY ISSUES OR TYPES OF CLIENTS THAT YOU DON’T WORK WITH?
I do not work with minors, nor do I conduct child custody evaluations or custody recommendations. I also do not provide treatment for eating disorders, psychotic disorders (schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, etc), or personality disorders. Due to state licensing laws, I can only provide therapy and counseling to individuals physically residing in Florida.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
There is a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you do not notify me at least 24 hours before your appointment, you will be charged a $50 cancellation fee, which will be charged to your credit card.
DO YOU SPEAK SPANISH?
Although I understand Spanish perfectly, I do not have 100% confidence in my speaking skills to be able to conduct an entire session in Spanish; therefore I do not offer sessions in Spanish. However, I often have clients speak "Spanglish" with me in sessions, with no problem on my part.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I BE IN THERAPY FOR?
That is entirely up to you based on your needs, availability, financials, etc. The majority of my clients I see on a weekly basis, while some are bi-weekly or as needed. In general, most clients are in therapy for at least a period of 3 months, if not much longer depending on their presenting problem. We will figure out what best suits your needs together.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?
I am available in the afternoon and evening hours during the week. I also have some limited weekend hours available.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A THERAPIST FOR?
I've been working as a therapist since 2014. It will be 8 years this year.
WHAT TYPE OF THERAPIST ARE YOU?
I am a master's level, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I see individuals and couples in my practice.
